The wait is over for Barbs
After a seven-week hiatus the Just Car Insurance V8 Ute will be back on track as the 2014 Australian V8 Ute Racing Series heats back up.
Round 2 of the series will see the Utes tackle Perth’s tight and technical Barbagallo Raceway.
Although it has been a long break, it definitely hasn’t been a quiet time for the Just Car Insurance Racing Team with a heap of shows, displays and events to attend.
The #57 Just Car Insurance Holden made some cameo appearances at Sydney’s, Top Gear Live Festival, Powercruise and Jamboree.
Then it was off to Melbourne for the ADGP at Calder Park and Autolife.
Calder Park was also the venue for JCI Ute racer Elliot Barbour to re acquaint himself with the #57 Holden. He too has been very busy, traveling overseas and around Australia as an advanced driving instructor, plus also making an appearance in the 5-litre Touring car class at Phillip Island in early April.
A pre round test day saw Elliot set some blinding pace whilst also gaining more valuable miles in his new Ute.
‘The car feels very good, it is important for me to get as much seat time as possible. Every time I jump in the Just Car Insurance Ute, I learn new things. We made plenty of changes to Ute and we kept going quicker.
After a promising start to the year in Adelaide, I feel I am now much more equipped to bring home a top five performance in Perth.’ Elliot Barbour.
Round two kicks off next Friday, May the 16th.
You can catch all the action on Channel 7 over the weekend.
