Second half of the season drifts in for Barbour

Wednesday 10th September 2014

After a lengthy wait, the second half of the 2014 V8 Ute Racing series will kick off at Victoria’s famous Sandown racing circuit this weekend.

Just Car Insurance Racing has been busy during the break with a heap of activity, with the #57 Just Car Insurance Racing Ute undergoing a full rebuild in preparation for the attack on the second half of the season.

'The car is brand new again, the mid year break has given us a great chance to work through the #57 and make it perfect for our tilt at Sandown this weekend.'  JCI driver Elliot Barbour.

Activity has been the name of the game with Just Car Insurance having a major national prize draw seeing 30 lucky winners go for a hot lap in the Just Car Insurance Racing Holden, the Victorian and Queensland legs have been run and the ten lucky Sydney winners will take their laps in Sydney later this year.

As a part of the Just Car Insurance overall motorsport team, Elliot Barbour took to the track for an expression session with the Just Car Insurance Insane drifters last week. All we can say, is there was plenty of tyre smoke and a bit of sideways action.

'It was an awesome day, to get an insight as to how talented these drift racers are, makes me appreciate just how on edge they can drive their cars. I learnt heaps, but I reckon I will be keeping the Just Car Insurance Ute as straight as possible come Sandown this weekend, I need to look after the Yokohamas!' Barbour said.

Last year Barbour was extremely quick at Sandown. In his standout rookie year Elliot was the quickest on track in all three races, so the Melbourne based driver will be looking to impress this weekend at his home event.

The V8 Utes fires up this weekend for round five of the series, there are two practice sessions on Friday with three races over the weekend.
